Hazel Griffith

Mrs. Hazel A. Griffith, 93, of Sarcoxie, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Carthage Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carthage, Missouri.

Hazel was born on June 26, 1924 in Reeds, Missouri, to the union of the late Jesse and Mary (Foster) Hodge. She was a graduate of Carthage High School. On September 10, 1946 she was united in marriage to Ted L. Griffith. Later she and Ted moved their family to California. She worked for the school district as a secretary until she retired. In 1977 Hazel and Ted moved back to Sarcoxie, Missouri, and resided there until June 2014. She loved her family and God.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ted; two grandsons, Jeff Griffith and Josh Griffith; and her thirteen siblings.

Hazel is survived by her sons, Stephen McClintock and wife, Donna, of Nixa, Missouri, and Larry Griffith and wife, Debra, of Reeds, Missouri; two grandchildren, Steven McClintock and wife, Christine, and Christine Brown and husband, Kevin; eight great grandchildren, Derrick Griffith, Anthony Griffith, Zachary Wild, Samantha Brown, Jessica Brown, Tanner Brown, Riley McClintock and Dakota McClintock; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside funeral services were Friday, March 2, 2018 at Grays Point Cemetery in Miller, Missouri, with Pastor Don Sullivan officiating. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers were family and friends. Memorial contributions may be directed to Avalon Hospice in care of the funeral home.
