Mary Susan Crider, age 84, of Carl Junction, Mo., passed away on Saturday March 3, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.
Mary was born on May 8, 1933 at home, the daughter of the late John and Eula M. (Slankard) Rice. She married Herman Leon Sill and together they had four children, He preceded her in death on June 16, 1971. She then married B.J. “Billy Joe” Crider on June 19, 1978 in Las Vegas, Nv., and they enjoyed thirty-nine wonderful years of marriage. Mary was a perfect homemaker, devoting her life to caring for her family. She was a member of College Heights Christian Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed quilting, rocking babies and phoning her friends. She also enjoyed taking trips on the train and to Branson.
Mary is survived by her husband B.J. “Billy Joe” Crider, Carl Junction, Mo., two sons, Fred Sill and wife Becky, Carl Junction, Mo., and Jimmy Sill, St. Charles, Mo.; two daughters, Mary E. “Betsy” Churchwell and husband Greg, Carl Junction, Mo., and Carol Jeanne Jones, Joplin, Mo.; one step-daughter, Karen Cox, Seneca, Mo.; one brother, James Rice, Hermitage, Mo.; one sister, Martha Sharp, Neosho, Mo.; ten grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Central City Christian Church. Randy Gariss, minister will officiate. Burial will be in Carl Junction Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Fred Sill, Jimmy Sill, Barrett Sill, Colter Jones, Matthew Fons, Greg Churchwell, Gabe Wouk, and Tony Branscum.
The visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to God’s Resort in care of the mortuary.
