Nicholas Guy Dunham, age 32 formerly of Galena, KS, passed away as the result of a motorcycle accident in Kansas City on the evening of Tuesday, February 27, 2018.
Nick was born In Lees Summit, MO on March 25, 1985. He had lived in the Kansas City area throughout his childhood before moving to Galena at the age of 15. He attended Galena Schools and established many lifelong friendships in the area. He moved back to the Kansas City area that he loved two years ago.
He obtained certification to work as a heavy equipment operator, and spent his free time fishing, and working on cars and motorcycles. He was very close with his Papa Guy, his mother Marilyn, and all of his extended family. He loved his children with all of his heart.
He is survived by his mother, Marilyn Dunham of Galena; his father, Troy Dunham of Joplin; his biological father, John Coleman (wife, Tonja) of Kansas City; one son, Darius Guy Jadaun Dunham; one daughter, Alexis Elise Nicole Dunham; two brothers, Blake Daniel Randy Dunham of Galena, and Dustin Rainwater of Kingsville, MO; his children’s mother, Katie Girard of Webb City, MO; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Nick was preceded in death by his Papa, Guy Dugan; his great-grandmother, “Granny Goose” Sylvia Walton; two great-aunts, Rayma Marez, and Ila Valdez; one great-uncle, Jimmy Trigg, and a very special childhood friend, “Little Randy” Lillard.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena. Pastor Jeff D. Martin will officiate. Honorary Pallbearers will be Blake Dunham, Michael Shawn Hopkins, Josh Hopkins, Bill Hopkins, Rick Marez, and Jimmy Stover.
