Bob Hall

Robert J. “Bob” Hall, 66, of Joplin and a former Parsons resident, passed away Friday, October 19, 2018 at the Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.

He was born on May 19, 1952 at Port Gibson, Mississippi to Thomas “Tom” Sr. and Fannie Elenora (Jones) Hall. He moved with his family to Parsons when he was an infant. He grew up at Parsons and attended Parsons schools graduating from Parsons High School. While at Parsons High School, Bob excelled at football as a running back, basketball, and track and field as a sprinter and hurdler. After high school Bob attended and graduated from Labette Community College with an Associates Degree in Graphic Design. He then attended Pittsburg State University where he played as a running back for the Gorillas. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work.

Bob worked for the Katy Railroad as a brakeman for over seven years before accepting a position as a social worker at the Boys Ranch in Wichita. He worked there for over eleven years. He later moved to Joplin. Bob had a passion for raising Doberman Pinschers and classic cars. He especially loved his 55 Chevy.

He and Vicky Ann Anderson were married on September 9, 2003 at Joplin, Missouri. She survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by three sons, Xavier Hall of the home, Eric Hall of Wichita, and Trevor Hall of Kansas City, KS; two daughters, Camille Hall of Lawrence and Tabitha Hall of Wichita; one step-son, Teddy Barber of Joplin, MO, two step-daughters, Destiny Knoderer of Joplin, MO and Chanta Lichtenaur of Deridder, LA; 13 grandchildren; one brother, Tom Hall, Jr. of Parsons, five sisters, Evelyn Marie Harper of Parsons, Tracy Rowland of Parsons, Susan Sangada of Baltimore, MD, Rebecca Halley Baltimore, MD, and Ruby Nell Berry of Olathe; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Tony Hall; a grandson, Cameron Lichtenaur; and a step-daughter, Cherish Barber.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.wallfuneralservices.com.
