Jerry Brashears

Jerry L. Brashears age 75 of Oronogo, Missouri passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

 He was born on March 16, 1943 in Diamond, Missouri to Leon A. Brashears and Chlora (Barrett) Brashears. Jerry graduated from Diamond High School and was a maintenance electrician for Missouri Steel Castings until his retirement. 

 He is survived by his wife, Susan Brashears of the home; a daughter, Kim Gates and husband Scott of Wichita, Kansas; step-sons, Sean Beck and wife Lori of Oronogo, Jason Beck of Overland Park, Kansas, Eric Martin of Lamar; a brother, Donald Brashears and wife Shirley of Cassville, Missouri; 2 sisters, Sharen Vass of Springfield, Missouri and Reta Carr of Webb City; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. 

 Jerry was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Brashears in 1995, and a grandson, Kristopher Gates in 1991. 

 Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 2:15 PM at the Mount Hope Cemetery Pavilion. The family will be present at Simpson Funeral Home on Thursday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM for a visitation. 

 Services are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City.
