Cheryl Stansell

Cheryl Ann Stansell was born March 7, 1937 in Lu Vern Iowa, to Chandos Clayton Smith and Edna Ruth Bane Smith. She passed quietly away at home on December 17, 2020.

Cheryl came to Neosho in 1957 and retired from Neosho City Hall in 1999. Cheryl was a former member of Beta Sigma Phi until 2003 when she moved to Kansas City to be closer to family.

Cheryl’s greatest loves were her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her children and her grandchildren. She sacrificed much self to raise her children. Cheryl had a heart for people treating everyone with love and respect. She never knew a stranger whether she was at her favorite restaurant, or checking out at her local grocery store. She always had a smile and a kind and encouraging word for all, and in return she was much loved by everyone whose lives she touched.






 

She is survived by her three sons and one daughter: Robert Mark of Mathews, TX, Richard Lee (Cathy) of Meeker, OK, Lynne Rene’(Dan) Landi of Kidder, MO, and Todd Allen (Christie) of Ozark, MO; her grandchildren: Jamie Schooler, Jody Crawford, Jackie Burlison, Amaris Santos, Marah Stansell, Niki Stansell, Rachelle Morlok, Dustin Locke, and Taylor Stansell; many great and great-great grandchildren; and her brother & sister-in-law, Chandos Clayton and Norma Smith of Crossville, TN.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents and two great grandchildren, Alexander Mason Schooler, and Alexis Jo Crawford.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Neosho, MO with Rev. Alan Brock officiating. Interment will follow at Neosho IOOF Cemetery. The family will have a time of visitation at the funeral home on Monday, December 21 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
