Travis Gray

Travis Paul Gray, age 47, passed away at 7:07 am, Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, MO.

Travis was born July 12, 1973 in Joplin, Missouri. His parents were Kenneth Paul and Beverly Ann (Spriggs) Gray. He was a lifetime resident of Columbus.

Travis graduated from Columbus High School with the class of 1991. He then attended Pitt State University, Pittsburg, KS earning a “Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting” degree. He was currently studying for a Master’s degree. Travis was employed as an accountant for Liberty Utilities, Joplin, MO. He was a member of Center Christian Church, Columbus, KS. He enjoyed traveling and going to the lake.

Travis was married to Amy A Redden on April 24, 1999 in Columbus, KS. She survives.

Additional survivors include three children, Macy Madison Gray, Luke Paul Gray, and Halle Grace Gray all of the home; his mother Beverly Murdock, Columbus; one sister, Amy Wilson, Columbus; and one nephew, Wyatt Johnston, Tontitown, AR.

His dad, Kenneth Gray passed away in 1987.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, December 18, 2020 at Center Christian Church, Columbus, KS. Pastor Andrew Peterman will officiate. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Columbus, KS.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30 pm, Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Columbus, KS. Friends are asked to observe COVID restrictions during the visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Center Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
