Kenneth Hodges

Kenneth Hodges, age 82, of Joplin, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 2, 2021.

Mr. Hodges, son of the late, Frank and Gladys Hodges, was born on June 7, 1938 in Duenweg, MO. He was a lifelong resident and attended Duenweg High School. 

 After graduation, he served his country honorably in the United States Navy. After returning he met and married Judith Burk on December 4, 1958. She preceded him in death on April 15, 2020 after 61 years of marriage. 

 He was previously employed with Eagle Picher until his retirement after 45 years of service. Together in their early years, they enjoyed bowling and raising their two sons. Later Kenneth enjoyed golfing and his grandchildren. He was a devoted father and grandfather that will be missed.

Survivors include his sons, David Hodges (Lynn) and Doug Hodges, both of Joplin; three grandchildren, Nicole, Eli, and Chloe Hodges; and one brother, Marvin Hodges, of Florida. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Hodges.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary in Joplin with private family burial to follow at Forest Park Cemetery, Joplin. Friends may pay their respects from 9:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5th in the chapel of Parker Mortuary. On-line condolences may be sent to the family at www.parkermortuary.com.
