Sheila Sexton

Sheila Ann Sexton, age 82, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 7:28 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at the Lawrence County Manor in Mt. Vernon. She was born June 13, 1938, in Miller, Missouri, the daughter of George and Janet (Ruark) Pendleton.

Sheila was a 1956 graduate of Joplin High School, in Joplin, Missouri. Sheila and her husband Don were cattle farmers. She was a member of the New Home Baptist Church and the Aurora Eagles Club.

On June 27, 1959, she married Donald Lee Sexton, in Aurora, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 8, 2020.








Sheila is survived by her daughter, Shannon Neely and her husband, Tim of Mt. Vernon; her son, Shawn Sexton of Miller, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Jamie Sexton and his wife, Jaylyn, Nathan Sexton, Keesha Malone and her husband, Dale, Scott Sexton and his wife, Ashley, Colter Sexton and his wife, Karlie, Kade Sexton, Wade Neely and Meghan Endicott; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Wilmott of Harrisonville, Missouri and Barbara Pendleton of Joplin, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, George and Janet, husband, Don, son, Sid Sexton, brother, Dan Pendleton, sister, Beverly Sue Pendleton and stepfather, Howard Scott.

A graveside service, under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon, will be held at the Pennsboro Cemetery, north Miller, MO., at a later date. Online condolences may be shared at www.FossettMosherFuneralHome.com.
