Richard Beckham

Richard Beckham, age 71, of Diamond, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Beckham, son of the late Ross and Louise (Thomas) Beckham, was born on December 24, 1949 in Joplin. He grew up and attended school in Joplin graduating from Joplin High School. 

Richard worked from a young age beginning his career in the lumber business. He soon purchased his own lumber yard in Wheaton, MO, formerly known as Beckham Lumber. 

On January 14, 1990 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas he was united in marriage to Rita Renkoski. Together they enjoyed over the road truck driving as a team and previously owned and operated Beckham Trucking in Joplin. Richard and Rita enjoyed breeding and raising quality paint horses on their farm in Diamond. When he wasn’t on the road, Richard was always ready to spend quality time with his family and extended family, enjoying food and laughter together.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Beckham, of Diamond; two children, Amy Beckham Waite, of Goodman and Jacob Beckham, of El Reno, OK; four grandchildren, Mercedes, Cheyanne, Zak, and Danica; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
