Chad Smith

Chad Aaron Smith, also known by many as “M.A.”, passed from this life at the age of 44 on April 3, 2021 at KU medical center after a short illness. Chad was born on August 10, 1976 in Joplin, MO to Charles and Connie Smith. 

Survivors include his parents of Seneca, MO; his sons Riley and Colton Smith of Seneca, MO; sister Deann Woodward and husband Randy of Seneca, MO; brother Bryan Smith and wife Rachelle of Joplin, MO. Chad was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Norma Leader and Betty Dumas.

Chad accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at a young age. He was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed all sports especially golf. He loved the Seneca Indians, Kansas City Chiefs, Arkansas Razorbacks and Kansas City Royals. Chad loved Seneca especially its creeks and beautiful sunsets. He had many friends and enjoyed sharing weather news and late-night talks on Facebook.

Chad was a 1995 graduate of Seneca High School where he was a 4-year golf letterman. Chad continued his golf career with a golf scholarship at Missouri Southern State University graduating in 2000.

The body has been taken for cremation. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 9th from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at Seneca Christian Church, 14200 Bethel Road, Seneca, MO. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will follow at 6:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the family at People’s Bank of Seneca.
