Helen White

April 3, 2021, Helen La Verne White 91 left for her Heavenly Home.

Helen La Verne Smith was born October 28, 1929 in Sentinel, OK the daughter of Joseph Grady Smith and Annie Bessie (Carothers) Smith. 

La Verne graduated from Sentinel, OK High School in 1948 and married fellow graduate Charles “Bud” F. White. They had three children, Mike, Pat and LuAnn while living in Sentinel. 








In 1955 a job relocation brought them to Seneca to live and raise their family. La Verne worked as a hairdresser owning her own salon for 52 years in Seneca. She loved being a hairdresser and styling hair even as a child standing on a stool to do it. After the death of her husband Bud, La Verne retired from hairdressing at the age of 81. La Verne was a Christian and attended Hottel Springs Church of Christ south of Seneca, MO. She enjoyed flower arranging and cooking. She will be missed for many things but particularly for her cinnamon rolls.

LaVerne was preceded in death by her husband Charles “Bud” White, her son Pat White and one brother C. A. Smith.

Survivors include one son, Mike White, Fairland, OK; one daughter, LuAnn White, Grove, OK; four grandchildren, Chris White and wife Dawn, Grove, OK, Dustin White, Jacksonville, FL, Jason White, Midlothian, TX and Olivia McClelland and husband Richard, Grove, OK; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Dawson White, Grove, OK, Meadow De Zoete’, Grove, OK, Ashton and Lyric White, Midlothian, TX and a very loved Boston terrier, Sophie Lu; Nephew Don and Cathy Smith, Davis, OK, Nieces Ginger and Chuck Slover and Kathy and Phil Newsom all of Oklahoma City Area.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 6:00pm, Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO.

La Verne will be laid to rest next to her husband Charles “Bud” White in Sentinel Cemetery, Sentinel, OK, Friday, April 16, 2021 at 11:00am.
