Mary Sue Black

Mary Sue Black, 60, Granby Mo, passed away on July 6, 2021. She was born June 5, 1961, in Stella Mo, daughter of Ron, and Lillie (Pemberton) Black Love. 

Mary was a lifelong area resident. She worked as a scheduler at Efco for many years; Mary attended Unity Church of Joplin; she was also a member of Unity Church Masterminds; Mary attended school in Granby and was a graduate of East Newton High School.








She was an accomplished athlete lettering all four years in softball, basketball, and track; enjoyed spending time with friends, going to the creek and camping, fishing, cheering on the Oakland Raiders, and digging for crystals in Arkansas; she will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor. 

Mary married Sarah King, August 28, 1988, and she survives of the home. 

Surviving family members are wife, Sarah King; mother, Lillie Marie Love; brother, Jerry Black; numerous nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her father, Ron Black. 

Memorial services will be held July 24, 2021, 11:00 AM at Unity Church, Joplin Mo. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Newton County Cancer Council.
