Paula Whitman

Paula Joann Whitman, 86, Neosho, MO passed away June 5, 2021. She was born May 6, 1935 in Joplin, MO to Martha (Pyles) and Paul Morey.

Paula enjoyed being with her family and friends. She was past president of Joplin Eagles, was an avid reader, a supporter of American Cancer Society, and participated in Relay for Life. 

Paula began her employment as an office manager, first for Gilbert Roper, then Hal Roper, for many years. She then moved to Neosho and purchased the Wildcat Drive In and Whitman Trailer Sales; she also worked for Donald Seidaman, CPA for several years, then worked as an insurance agent for Charley Hughes American Family Insurance before retiring. After retirement, she worked a short time for Scholastic.

Paula is survived by three children: Marti Bogle and husband, Darrell of Neosho, MO, Scott Whitman of Neosho, MO, and Darren Whitman and wife, Angela of Howell, MI; ten grandchildren: Jessica Smith, Brittany Bogle, Amanda Bogle, Mallory Whitman, Mason Whitman, Kayla Shaffer, Lewis Deisler, Jullianna Klatt, Carter Willis, and Kylie Whitman; three great grandchildren: Lily Smith, AnnaBelle Shaffer, and Jack Shaffer. 

She was preceded in death by two sisters, June Kash and Betty Kingrey.

A Memorial Visitation will be held Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Newton County Relay For Life, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66; Neosho, MO 64850.
