Jim Stamper

Mr. James Calvin “Jim” Stamper, Sr., 60, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

Jim entered this life on October 10, 1960, in Hamtramck, Michigan, born to the union of Ole Calvin and Linda Gail (Cronk) Stamper. His formative years were spent in the state of Arizona. 

Following high school, he enlisted and served his country faithfully in the United States Army. 








On December 16, 1978, he was united in marriage to Deborah “Debbie” Hendricks and together they have shared the last forty-two years. In 1981, they moved to Windsor, Missouri, where they remained until moving to Joplin, Missouri, in 2014. Jim was employed by Schreiber Foods in Carthage, Missouri, for the last ten years. He enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were hunting, fishing, camping and arrowhead hunting.

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Linda and James Henderson; two children, Samantha and Kimberly Stamper; and two sisters, Andrea and Sandy Stamper.

Jim is survived by his wife, Debbie Stamper of the home; four children, Shannon Barron and husband, Martin, of Webb City, Cristi Stamper of Joplin, Beth Batkins and husband, Paul, of Green Bay, Wisconsin and Jimmy Stamper, Jr. and wife, Katy, of Shawnee Mound, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; his father and stepmother, Ole and Anna Stamper, of St. Helen, Michigan; two brothers, Mark Stamper of Prescott Valley, Arizona and James Henderson of Phoenix, Arizona; a sister, Terri Randall of the state of Kansas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Memorial services are 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 12, 2021 in the chapel of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin with Pastor Jim Bowles officiating.
