(From Clark Funeral Home)Ronald ‘Ron’ E. Payton was born January 15, 1961 in Neosho, Missouri, the son of Harold E. and Eleanor J. (Smith) Payton. He entered into rest on August 15, 2021 in Joplin, following an extended illness at the age of 60.
Ron was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Neosho High School, class of 1979. He worked at Talbot Wire / Leggett and Platt as a fork lift operator, welder and in the plating department, retiring in 2018 due to health. He enjoyed farming, farm animals, his dogs, fishing and hunting.
Ron is survived by one daughter, Rebecca (John) Whetzell of Neosho; his fiance’, Tammy White of Neosho; four stepchildren, Brandy (Chris) Crosby of Noel, Dusty (Amanda) White of Neosho, Tiffany (Danny) Burge of Anderson and Travis White of Neosho; one sister, Sherry (Bill) Gratton of Neosho and eight grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Leon Payton.
Services will be Friday, August 20, 2021 at 2 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow in the Gibson Cemetery.
