Sammie Ames

Mr. Sammie Joe Ames, 75 of Noel, Missouri departed this life on Monday, August 16, 2021 at his home after an illness.

Sammie was born January 11, 1946 in Jay, Oklahoma to the late Sam and Nelda (Rodgers) Ames.

Sammie grew up around the Jay, Oklahoma area and graduated from Jay High School. Sammie honorably served his country in the United States Army. 

On September 24, 1983 he was united in marriage to Carol Sue who preceded him in death on February 4, 2019. Sammie worked most of his life as an over the road trucker. He liked fishing and was a huge John Wayne fan and enjoyed watching old westerns and was a great story teller.

Sammie is survived by three children; Tommy Beck and wife, Corky, Mike Beck, and Jeff Beck and wife, Heather all of Noel, thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and a brother; Lee Ames of Jay, Oklahoma as well as a host of other family and friends.

Those honoring Sammie by serving as pallbearers are; Jacob Cotrill, Stetson Proctor, Josh Beck, Justin Smith, Wyatt Beck and Timothy Beck.
