Ron Forbis

Ronald “Ron” Edwin Forbis, 79, of Carl Junction passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at his home. Born on November 27, 1941 in Albany, MO, he was the son of the late Edwin Glen and Maxine (Carter) Forbis. On November 10, 1963 he was united in marriage to Mary V. Coffman in Trenton, MO.

He graduated from Albany (Missouri) High School in 1959. Ron worked in distribution for Butterball Turkey at various locations in MO, NC, and IL until his retirement in 2001. He was an active member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Carl Junction. 








Ron spent much of his retirement volunteering for many organizations including Meals on Wheels, America Rehabilitation Ministries, and Silver Haired Legislature. He also served on the Board of KNEO Radio in Neosho, MO.

Ron never met a stranger and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He always welcomed them with a hug. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mary Forbis of Carl Junction; two sons, Greg Forbis, and his wife, Robin, of Rogers, AR as well as Andy Forbis, and his wife, Susie, of Holly Springs, NC; one brother, Terry Forbis, of Albany, MO; one sister, Anita Willits of St. Joseph, MO; and five grandchildren, Taylor Forbis Mills, and her husband, Jon, Kelly Forbis, John Forbis, Carter Forbis, and Katie Forbis.

The family will hold a small private service and plans to have a celebration of life with family and friends to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to the Carl Junction Senior Center at 303 North Main Street, Carl Junction, MO 64834, St. Paul’s United Methodist Church at PO Box 597, Carl Junction, MO 64834, or KNEO Radio at 10827 Hwy 86E, Neosho, MO 64850.

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
