Wilburn Poole

Wilburn Lancen Poole, age 84, of Joplin, MO passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Freeman Health System West in Joplin, MO. He was born in Huffman, AR on Friday, August 27, 1937; son of Wilburn and Louise (Cribbs) Poole. 

Mr. Poole attended Couch High School in Missouri. He served in the Air Force and Army Reserve. Furthering his education, he attended the University of California-Fresno where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Finance. 








Mr. Poole was Owner/President of Monte Vista Development, Corp in CA, AZ, NV, and ID where over four thousand homes were constructed. He married Lois Beavers on Tuesday, October 26, 1976, in Reno, NV.

Mr. Poole was President of Building Industry Association in San Joaquin Valley, CA and former Vice-President of Wells Fargo Bank in Redwood City, CA. He was a member of the Elks Fraternal Organization. Mr. Poole enjoyed deer hunting on his ranch in MO. He loved traveling in the United States and had been to every state except Alaska. He really, really enjoyed going to Hawaii. Mr. Poole loved football and was very proud of his son, Keith, who played five years in the NFL. Mr. Poole absolutely enjoyed time spent with his children and grandchildren. He was passionate about Family, Country, and God, along with vintage cars and nature.

Surviving are the following: his wife, Lois of Joplin, MO; three sons, Marc Poole of Phoenix, AZ, Keith (Aimee) Poole of Chandler, AZ, and Wyatt (Kristen) Poole of Las Vegas, NV; one daughter, Kimberly Poole of Lexington, KY; four grandchildren, Allie, Tiffany, and Kyle of Chandler, AZ, and Kalia of Las Vegas, NV; and one brother, Daniel (Pamela) Poole of Clovis, CA. He will be missed by many other family members and friends.

Mr. Poole was preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn and Louise Poole.

Graveside service, with Military Honors, will be at Andelin Family Cemetery in Pierce City, MO on Saturday, October 9, 2021, beginning at 11:00 AM with Elder Brandon Fordham of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiating. Burial will follow at Andelin Family Cemetery in Pierce City, MO. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
