Ray Carroll
(From Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home)Mr. Ray Carter Carroll, Jr. 86, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021 in the comfort of his own home.
Ray was born on July 31, 1935 in Worth County, Missouri, to the union of Ray C. Carroll, Sr. and Dorcyle (Armstrong) Carroll. He was baptized into the Christian Church. In early years he farmed and grew up in the Sheridan, Missouri area.
On November 1, 1953 he was united in marriage to Zona Marlene Brunk, together they shared sixty-eight wonderful years of memories. He proudly serviced in the United States Army and served during the Vietnam era. He later was employed with Reyco Manufacturing in Mount Vernon, Missouri and had resided in Sarcoxie, Missouri for four years. He enjoyed bowling, rodeos, farming, as well as spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; sister, Venita Sickels; niece, Dorcyle McClure; and two nephew-in-laws, Don McClure and John Park Winkler, Jr.
Ray is survived by his wife; two nieces, Ruth Winkler and Rita Young; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Carroll are 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 29, 2021 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home with Ruth Winkler officiating. Burial to follow with full military honors, Nodaway Memorial Garden Cemetery, Maryville, Missouri. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
