Berta Ward

Etta Alberta “Berta” Ward, age 96 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at National Health Care.

Berta was born September 10, 1925 in Joplin, Missouri to the late Albert and Laurel (Dubois) Henderson. Berta was lifetime resident of the Joplin area. She was a homemaker and had also worked as a secretary.

Berta was united in marriage to Roy F. Ward on January 18, 1947. He preceded her in death on January 18, 2004.








Berta was baptized at an early age and loved the Lord. She was a long-time member of Blendville Christian Church. Berta enjoyed bowling, golfing and camping. She was always willing to help others and had a huge heart. Her grandchildren and children meant the world to her. Berta cherished the time spent and memories created with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents and husband, Berta was also preceded in death by her sisters, Jeanne Kyle and Maxine Laster.

Berta is lovingly survived by her daughter, Karol Perry and husband, Tony of Webb City, Missouri; son, Richard Ward and wife, Susan of Spring Branch, Texas; five grandchildren and their families; together with extended family and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel with her son Richard Ward officiating. Committal of ashes will follow at Osborne Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
