(From Clark Funeral Home)Joan A. Phelps was born October 24, 1929, in Dorchester, Nebraska, the daughter of Jess and Faye (Rogers) Lautzenheiser. She entered into rest on December 16, 2021, at her home in Neosho, Missouri at the age of 92.
Joan received her degree in fashion design. She had worked in Administration of the Cardwell Memorial Hospital in Stella, in collections for Oak Hill Hospital in Joplin and was a broker/salesperson in real estate in the state of Minnesota.
Joan is preceded in death by her husband, Harley Joe Cox in February of 1978 and her second husband, Kawl Phelps in 1989.
She is survived by her son, Tim Cox and fiancé, Deborah J. Ragland of Neosho; grandson, Jeremy Joseph Cox of Springdale, Arkansas; three great-grandchildren, Keegan Tierney Cox, Salt Lake City, Utah, Cristian Harley Cox and Tierney K. Cox, both of Springdale, Arkansas; sister, Joan Mae McBroom of Leavenworth, Kansas; sister-in-law, Louise Hadley of Leavenworth, Kansas; daughter-in-law, Liz Watkins of Joplin and two step grandchildren, Jonathan and Jennifer Neal.
