Lora Neal

Lora Christine (Newman) (Bryson) Neal, 36 years of age, passed to be with The Lord on November 23, 2021 after a short illness at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota.

Survivors include her husband, Leonard “Lenny” Neal; her parents, Coy Michael and Theresa Newman; one brother, Troy Neil Newman; two sons, Daylan Matthew Dart and Peyton Darrell Bryson; nieces and nephews, Jessie, Ryan, Chase, Noah, Emma, Kaylynn, Brandon, Zeta, Joaquin, Jackson, and Marlee; and numerous cousins, friends, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents, and one cousin, Valance Newman.

Lora was raised in Galena, KS where all of her school years were spent in the Galena School System. She graduated from Galena High School with the Class of 2003. She pursued cosmetology by attending the Pittsburg School of Beauty, and she received her degree from Fort Scott Cosmetology School.

She was baptized at Central Christian Center in Joplin, MO. She loved playing softball, basketball, track, choir, and cheerleading in school, as well as listening to music and painting. She was a fan of good BBQ, The Kansas City Chiefs, and the Kansas City Royals. As a mother, a daughter, an aunt, and a friend, she will be greatly missed by all that loved her.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Galena. Pastor Shane Munn will officiate. Pallbearers serving will be Leonard Neal, Troy Newman, Nick Williams, Daylan Dart, Floyd Burrows, Trenton Tucker, Peyton Bryson, and Noah Newman. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery of Galena.

Visitation will take place from 6-7:00 PM on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena.
