Richard Lutes


Richard E. Lutes Sr, 51, of Joplin, Mo passed away after a sudden illness at Freeman Hospital on December 1st, 2021. He was born in Nevada, Mo to Judith Carol Brokob and James Forrest Lutes on January 15th, 1970. 

Richard worked at Russell’s Tire and Automotive for the last 15 years of his life and he enjoyed his job so much; he was a hard worker. Russell and Susie are great people and loved Ricky more than a worker. He was also their friend.

Richard loved working on cars, going to Walmart runs for Shasta his beloved wife, changing out seasonal décor and spending time with his grandkids. He loved going on short vacations with his wife and grandkids. 

He married the love of his life Shasta Lutes on June 8th, 2007. She survives of the home along with his children Mercedes (Thomas) Bates, Rick Jr. (Bridgette) Lutes, Shyann (Mark) Trease and Walker Lutes, all of Joplin, Mo., nine grandkids Kylie, Skyler, Bentley, Bella, Payton, Trinity, Stella, Sawyer, and Melanie. Survivors also include siblings Beverly Fanning of Nevada, Mo, James Lutes, Jr of Licking, Mo, Gus Brokob, of Nevada, Mo and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother Judith Carol Brokob, Father James Forrest Lutes, sister Georgia Rich and sister Betty Duncan.

A celebration of life will be held on December 18 at The Red Barn Door, 9164 State Highway 43, Webb City, Mo 64870.
