Phillip Guinn

Phillip Lee Guinn, 72, Springfield, Missouri, passed away Wednesday morning, January 5, 2022, at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Missouri. Phillip was born December 20, 1949, in Carthage, Missouri, the son of Almon Guinn and Alice (Cole) Guinn. He was a graduate of Carthage High School. 

Phillip married Priscilla Riley in July of 1982. He was employed with Gearhart Oil Company, and then later was employed with Solo Cup in Springfield. Phillip loved fishing and gardening, the Kansas City Chiefs, his friends, and pets, “real donuts”, but most of all, loved his grandkids.








Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Priscilla Guinn; two sons, Matthew Guinn, Springfield, Missouri, and Travis Chandler (Janette), Pittsburg, Missouri; four grandchildren, Trevor Chandler, Darren Chandler, Kyliee Walters, and Nolan Chandler; three brothers, Max Guinn, Jerry Guinn and Joe Guinn, all of Carthage; one sister, Charlotte Platt, Pittsburg, Kansas; and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Frank Guinn; and two sister, Elsie Pittman, and Leota Christopherson

Graveside funeral services will be held 1 pm, Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Park Cemetery, Carthage. The family suggests contributions to the Michael J. Fox Foundation in care of the Knell Mortuary.
