(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Debra Sue Huffman, age 67 of Laverne, OK. (formerly of Carterville, MO.) passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Debra was born on August 27, 1954 in Joplin, MO., the daughter of Richard and June (Mitchell) Everett. She was a long time area resident prior to moving to Laverne.
Debra worked for Fleming Food Company as an accountant for many years before retiring in 1999. Following her retirement, Debra worked in the retail industry off and on for several years. She loved spending time with and taking care of her family.
She married Jim Huffman on October 26, 2012, he survives. Additional survivors include her mother; June Everett, her son; James Everett and his family of Laverne, her daughter; Sheila Dilley and her family of Carterville, a step-daughter; Jamie Huffman and her family of Webb City, MO., her step-son; John Huffman of Joplin, MO., and her brother; Mike Everett and his family of Catoosa, OK.
A funeral service has been scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 7, 2022 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin, MO. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation at the funeral home prior to the start of the service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Monday.
