Eileen Corbett

Eileen Ann Corbett (nee Burns), age 85, passed away on February 4, 2022. She was an amazing wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend.

Her larger than life personality and quick wit kept everyone on their toes.She loved everything baseball, Irish and country western music.Born and raised in upstate New York, she was a devout Catholic and her zest for life was contagious.








She found joy in all the families she babysat for over the years in the Oakville, MO community. She treated them all like her own and impacted their lives immensely.

Eileen was born December 5, 1936, the second daughter to James J. Burns and Lorena Kirk Burns in Rome, New York.Her beloved sister, Mary Kay, was a steadfast companion and best friend.Eileen married Stanley A. Corbett in 1968 in Rome, NY. In 1970, a transfer led them to Prairie Village, KS until 1978 when they moved to Oakville in St. Louis, MO.Eileen’s last 3.5 years were spent in Joplin, MO, and final days in Waterloo IL.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, James J. (1967) and Lorena Kirk Burns (1987), spouse Stanley A. Corbett (2018), sister Mary Katherine Hubbard (2019), and her 4 year old granddaughter Layla Rose Miller (2014).

She is survived by her daughters Kathleen Immekus (Jason), and Colleen Miller (Michael). Grandchildren Cassandra Eileen Chandler, Kirk Chandler, Beau Miller, and much loved extended family that all carry her same love of life and laughter.

Memorial contributions may be given to Monastery of St. Clare, 200 Marycrest Drive, Saint Louis, MO 63129.

Services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday February 10, 2022 at Mason-Woodard Chapel, with the visitation at 2:00 p.m. Thursday Prior to the service.

Services in Saint Louis, MO will be: Visitation 10:00 a.m. and Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, 4900 Ringer Road.

Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery Rome, NY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
