Lonnie Lambeth

Lonnie Dewayne Lambeth, of Carthage, Missouri departed this life on February 7, 2022 at the age of 90. Lonnie entered this life on December 16, 1931 in Sarcoxie, he was one of four children born to the union of Gilbert Lawson and Anna (Culley) Lambeth. 

On November 28, 1956, in Miami, OK, he was united in marriage to Layvetta (Bet Sue) Burkybile. They shared 40 years together before her passing on February 19, 1997. To this union, seven children were born. 









On January 18, 2003 in Oronogo, Lonnie wed Linda Lawrence of Jasper. 

After serving in the U. S. Army and fighting in the Korean War, he drove for Carthage Marble for over 16 years, then worked at Spring River Fertilizer before retiring from Doug Pugh Trucking. Lonnie enjoyed gardening and working on his farm and was the hardest working man we’ve ever known, he was happiest when he was outdoors on his farm. Lonnie attended New Providence Baptist Church in Oronogo. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Layvetta, one daughter, Lori Jean Lambeth and three sisters, Zela May Nolan Baird, Minnie Arla McNabb and Dixie Jewell Bacon. Lonnie is survived by his loving wife Linda of Carthage and six children, Lana Brand and Hank, of Jasper; Linda Pugh and Dan, of Carthage; Les Lambeth and Melinda of Carthage; Lisa Lambeth, of Carthage; Latricia Goding and Rob, of Bentonville, AR; Lawonna Worthley and Joe, of Lamar; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are grandsons Brent Lambeth, Matt Lambeth, Randy Lambeth, Garrett McClane, Brant McClane, and great-grandsons Chase McKinzie and Jonathan Kohley. Pastor Larry Shumaker will officiate graveside services at Paradise Cemetery in Jasper, Missouri on Saturday, February 12th at 11 am. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon following the service at the First Baptist Church in Jasper.
