Marlin Creed

Marlin Richard Creed, 83, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, departed this earth on February 4, 2022.

Marlin was born on January 26, 1939 to Chester William and Helen Victoria (Wiehe) Creed. He was a lifetime resident of the Sarcoxie area.

Marlin served in the United States Air Force from 1959 to 1962. 








On June 18, 1965 he was united in marriage to Katherine Sue Knott, together they shared fifty-five years until her passing on November 29, 2020. After leaving the Air Force he made a career with the Missouri Department of Transportation. After retiring from MODOT he worked for a number of years at Mid-America Hardwood in Sarcoxie, Missouri.

He enjoyed playing dominoes, being outdoors, taking care of his cattle, trout fishing with the boys, and watching his great-grandchildren play, chase and swim. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Marlin was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Creed; his parents, Chester and Helen; one sister, Cheryl Reynolds; sister-in-law, Thelma Creed; and brother-in-law, Dick Reynolds.

Marlin is survived by his daughter Vicky (Allan) Strong; his son, Russell (Melissa) Creed; seven grandchildren, Cody (Kelsey) Strong, Ben (Christine) Strong, Faith (Jared) Mitchell, Jacob Creed, Jamie Chapman, Nik (Julia) Chapman and Allie Creed; three great-grandchildren, Cordell and Vyva Strong and Axl Strong; five sisters, Patty (Roger) Williams, Donna (George) Wommack, Sharon (Larry) Boxx, Barbara (Ron) Grieb and Anita Creed; one brother, Charles Creed; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Marlin are 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor Deny Lemaster officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Sarcoxie Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
