(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Alice Jean Huff, age 48 of Baxter Springs, passed away at 8:44 PM on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Mercy Hospital of Springfield, MO.
Alice was born on January 16, 1974 in Webb City, MO to Warren Allen Huff and Wilma Jean Reffett. She had lived in Baxter Springs all of her life, except a short period of time in Clinton, MO. She attended Baxter Schools. In her free time, she enjoyed listening to her music and frequenting the area casinos. She loved playing with her grandkids.
She is survived by her children, Christopher Huff of Asbury, MO, Bradley Shoemaker of Baxter Springs, Sheila Florence of Pittsburg, KS and Dana Shoemaker of Galena, KS; her significant other, Jodie Shoemaker of Baxter Springs; brothers, Russell Huff (wife, Michelle) of Commerce, OK, Ricky Huff of Clinton, MO, Leo Huff (wife, June) of Clinton, MO, Johnnie Reffett (wife, Shanna) Seneca, MO, Amos Reffett (wife, Jeannie) of Fairview, MO, and Sam Reffett of Wichita, KS; sisters, Levena Huff, Donna Reed of Clinton, MO, Regina Lake (husband, Glenn) of Galena, KS, Angie McWilliams (husband, Jeremy) of Baytown, TX, , Mary Reffett of Baxter Springs; as well as 6 grandchildren; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Wilma; one brother, Dale Huff; her maternal grandparents, Russell and Lola Sanders; and her step-dad, John Reffett.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 21, 2022 at Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena. Following the service, interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, rural Baxter Springs. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on the same day as the service, beginning at Noon and concluding at 2:00 PM.
