Blair Byers

(From Parker Mortuary)

Blair Earl Byers, age 55, Joplin, passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Mercy of Joplin.

Blair was born May 24, 1966 in Oakland, California, son of the late Earl W. Byers and Carol Sue (Kreep) Byers. He grew up in California and graduated from College Park High School in Pleasant Hill, California. He served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany, among other bases. He returned to California where he worked for some time before moving to the Joplin area in 1993.

He married Jennifer R. Robb in 1996, and the couple moved to Minnesota from 1997 through 2006. He returned to Joplin where he worked for the Joplin Public Library for many years.

Blair was a very caring person known for his quick wit, and always willing to help those in need. He was very proud of his children, and enjoyed coaching them in all sports, baseball, basketball, and football as they grew up, and was a huge Oakland Athletics fan for many years. As the children quit playing all the sports, his passion was playing his guitar with his lifelong friend, Tom Henderson. He really loved playing his guitars and became very good at playing guitar and singing. He enjoyed this for many years. He will be greatly missed by many - family, friends, and co-workers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sue and Earl Byers.

Survivors include his loving wife, Jennifer Byers; son, Alonzo Earl Byers; daughter, November Crandall and husband Mark, and granddaughter Brynlee Crandall all of Joplin.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. at Weston Place, 114 S. Wood Street, Neosho, MO 64850 with family and friends exchanging stories.
