Esther Bryant

Esther K. Bryant, 95, of Carthage, Missouri passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Spring River Christian Village in Joplin, Missouri. 

Esther was born October 15, 1926 in Carthage, Missouri to Sol Bishop and Ella Edna Campbell. Esther was a lifetime resident of Carthage. She retired in 1988 after twenty-seven years with H.E. Williams. 










Esther was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Carthage, Missouri. She was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. (Veterans of Foreign Wars) and The American Legion Ladies Auxilluary in Webb City, Missouri.

Esther was married to Arthur C. Bryant on March 31, 1949 in Conway County, Arkansas; he preceded her in death in March 1994.

Esther is survived by three daughters, Earline Williams of Carthage, Missouri, Sarah James of Carthage, Missouri and Mary Blackford and her husband, Robert, of Carthage, Missouri; two sons, Thomas Bryant and his wife, Brenda, of Tipton Ford, Missouri, and Dan Bryant and his wife, Shelly, of Carthage, Missouri; two sister, Margaret McCoy of Carthage, Missouri and Barbara Rose of Aurora, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and numerous great-great grandchildren.

Esther is preceded by her husband, Arthur C. Bryant; one son, Russ Sandlin (2006); her parents, Sol and Ella Bishop; two brothers, Robert and George Bishop; and two sisters, Rosemary Coady and Lillian Herring.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, May 4, 2022 at Ulmer Funeral Home.

Contributions may be made to the V.F.W. (Veteran of Foreign Wars) or the American Legion in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
