Ilene Feaster

Ilene Stinnett Feaster, age 95, formerly of Joplin, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Cedarhurst Memory Care in Springfield, MO.

Born October 10, 1926 in Joplin, MO, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Lillie (Douglas) Stinnett. She graduated from Joplin High School and pursued some college courses locally. 

She lived in Joplin till 1958, when she moved to Pittsburg, KS. She moved to Centralia, MO in 1973 to co-own Vern’s Variety with her husband until 1985. She was also co-owner of Joplin Toy Town. 








She retired to Joplin and worked many years as a Certified Tax Accountant for H&R Block. She also served as a member of Mended Hearts, Inc. at St. John’s Hospital and was a member of Club ’44 Members of Joplin High School. She was a very passionate and caring individual, loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

On September 12, 1946 she married Vernon R. Stinnett in Joplin who preceded her in death in 2009. She is survived by her daughter, Vicki R. Allen (Mark), of Nixa, MO; grandson, Zach Allen, Houston, TX; granddaughters, Lindsey Simon (Scott), Montgomery, MN, and Katie Whitehead (Gabe), Ash Grove; great grandchildren, Violet Reese Whitehead and Camille Aurelia Whitehead.

Ilene S. Feaster, age 95, of Nixa, formerly of Joplin, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Cedarhurst of Springfield, in Springfield, MO. Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors and may be entrusted to the mortuary.

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
