(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Alvin W. Meyers, age 44, of Asbury, Missouri, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022 after an illness.
Alvin was born May 2, 1978 to David G. Meyers Sr and Cathy Stevens Windle in Baxter Springs, Kansas. He graduated with the class of 1996 in Fairland, Oklahoma.
On June 30, 2006 he married Sharon Havens in Miami, Oklahoma. To that union was born one son. They later divorced.
During his life, Alvin helped his family by farming with his dad. He enjoyed spending time with family, and nature, which he would take in on long walks. Alvin was known to be an avid Chiefs fan. Elvis music was his favorite music to listen to. Alvin was also a big fan of Pro Wrestling and was able to attend two Pro Wrestling events recently; and was even able to hold the prized belt. This was described as one of the happiest times of his life.
Alvin attended church at Connection Point in Columbus, Kansas. He lived in Columbus for about 10 years, then living with his brother David's family in Asbury for the last 5 months.
Survivors include his son Charles Havens; 3 brothers: Bobby Bittner of Nevada, Missouri, David Meyers Jr of Asbury, Missouri, and Jacob Meyers of Foyil, Oklahoma; 3 sisters: Arlene Holiday of Pludlow, Colorado, Darlene Emmett of Columbus, Kansas, and Cathy Henry of Miami, Oklahoma; 3 nieces, 5 nephews, 3 great nieces, and 1 great nephew.
Alvin was preceded in death by his mother Cathy Windle (in February 2022), brother Joe Bittner, father David Meyers Sr, and his grandparents.
The family will receive friends at Derfelt Funeral Home of Columbus, Kansas on Thursday evening, July 14, 2022 from 6:00-7:00 PM.
