(From Parker Mortuary)Donald Ray Hudson, age 86, Joplin, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at the Communities of Wildwood.
Don was born August 5, 1935 in Neosho, Missouri, son of the late Jess Hudson and Margaret (Bushner) Hudson. He grew up in Diamond, before graduating from Duenweg High School. He attended Scotland Church of God growing up and was a Christian.
He worked for over 43 years with the Safeway Bakery in Joplin before retiring. He loved being outdoors, and was an avid deer hunter, both rifle and bow, and enjoyed his gardening over the years. He was friendly and outgoing, and will be greatly missed by many.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Norma Jean (Peters) Hudson, who passed away on April 5, 2021, and a sister, Patricia Filarski.
Survivors include his daughters, Debbie Osborne and husband Don of Rogers, Arkansas, Kathy Dykens and husband Jim of Diamond, and Nann Flowers and husband Quint of Branson, Missouri; grandchildren, Angie Castiglia and husband Kevin, Sarah Jennings, Meagan Barron and husband Jesus, Corey Osborne and wife Amanda, Todd Osborne, Ryan Osborne and wife Sarah, Travis Dupree, Dusty Dupree, Jordan Starkweather and wife Mitzi, Graham Starkweather and wife Jourdan, Chase Starkweather, Mariah Romano and husband Giancarlo, Joshua Flowers, and Caleb Flowers; great-grandchildren, Madison Castiglia, Laney Castiglia, Ella Castiglia, August Castiglia, Lennox Barron, Sloan Barron, Dylan Osborne, Ava Osborne, Sophia Osborne, Ellie Osborne, Beckett Osborne, Dorian Starkweather, Matteo Romano, and Jasper Flowers; brother, Charles Hudson and wife Sylvia; sister, Athena Hart; and his companion for the last few years, Addie Davey; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and many friends.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, July 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Journey Church of Joplin with Pastor Danny Mullins officiating.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
Inurnment of his ashes will be with a private family service held at a later date in King Cemetery, Neosho, Missouri next to his parents.
