(From Parker Mortuary)Ray L. Williams, age 91, of Joplin, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022 at Communities of Wildwood Ranch.
Ray, son of the late R.J. and Myrtle Williams, was born December 3, 1930 in Galena, Kansas.
He grew up and attended school in Kansas before joining the United States Navy where he served as a diesel mechanic and trained with submarines. He served from May 1948 until 1952.
He returned to Kansas where he earned his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration degree from Pittsburg State College. He worked for years as a case worker for the State of Missouri. He had a caring heart, and loved volunteering with his wife in his retirement years. He will be greatly missed by many.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Betty Gene Williams who passed away on March 26, 2022; his son, Craig Curtis “Curt” Williams, and brothers, Pat and Jim Williams.

Survivors include his daughter, Raeann Donley of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Chadd Williams of Arkansas, Ryan Donley, Reed Donley, and Casey Donley all of Kansas City; great-grandchild, Aubrey Williams.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
