(From Knell Mortuary)Frances Pennington, 89, Joplin, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at her home. Frances was born December 28, 1933, in Carthage, Missouri, the daughter of the late Vernie Calvin Cline and Ethel Elizabeth (Tayler) Cline.
She married Troy A. Pennington on June 7, 1986, in Webb City, Missouri; he preceded her in death on September 2, 2015. She was a member of the Born Again Full Gospel Church in Webb City, Missouri. Frances loved crocheting, tending to her flowers, crafting, but most of all, loved her family.
Survivors include four daughters, Merry Frances Jones, Webb City, Missouri, Laurie Ann Pippin (Willard), Reeds, Missouri, Sharon Kay Smith (Ray), Carthage, Missouri, and Kayla Viar (Joe), Joplin, Missouri; seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas Cline Pennington; her companion, Robert “Bob” Williams; a brother; and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Carthage. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm, Monday, February 6, 2023, at Knell Mortuary.
