Sondra Showalter

Hazel ‘Sondra’ Showalter, Joplin, formerly of Diamond, Missouri, entered into rest on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Joplin, Missouri at the age of 82. 

Sondra was born on September 19, 1940 in Pierce City, Missouri, one of two children to Jackson Daniel, Sr. and Olivia Boyd Daniel. She was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Diamond High School 








 
She had worked at J.C. Penney and was a homemaker. Sondra enjoyed camping with her family, working in her yard, sewing and doing crafts. She was a member of the Diamond Christian Church. 

In 1957, Sondra and Billy E. Showalter were married and he preceded her in death on January 31, 1999. 

She is survived by three daughters, Carol Dawley of Joplin, Mychele Cole and husband, Michael of Lincoln, Nebraska and Jean Campbell of St. Petersburg, Florida; two granddaughters, Cammra Schnell and Cassandra Schnell and fiance’, Dan Huber and three great grandchildren, Awen, Evie and Esmae Huber. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Jack Daniel, Jr.
