(From Parker Mortuary)Jerry Johnston, 84, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023, in Joplin, Missouri. He was born in Ft. Scott, Kansas on February 13, 1939. Jerry graduated from Wichita State University with a Bachelor of Economics and spent most of his career in the refrigeration business.
Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, Ellen, and stepson, Randy Clark.
He is survived by his son, Michael, Suffolk, Virginia; two daughters, Kimberly Flynn (Matthew), Lee’s Summit, Missouri; and Melissa Hogan, Wichita, Kansas; stepson, Christopher Clark, Wichita, Kansas; granddaughters, Alexandra Flynn, Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Katie Patrick (Cary), Suffolk, Virginia; and Jayme Arnette (Greg), Thomaston, Georgia; three grandsons, Chad Hogan (Leila), Wichita, Kansas; Miles Hogan, Derby, Kansas; and Nathan Johnston, Suffolk, Virginia; and three great-grandchildren.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Silver Creek Assisted Living who treated him like family. Cremation rites have been accorded under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
