Richard Woolsey

Richard Scott Woolsey, 58, passed away Friday, November 10, 2023, at 12:23 a.m. at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

Richard was born on Thursday, August 19, 1965, in Carthage, Missouri. He was the special son of Windell and Sheryl Woolsey, residing with them in their home.

He is survived by his parents, Windell and Sheryl Woolsey; one brother, Lawrence “Bucky” Woolsey and his wife, Elizabeth; and twelve nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glen and Pansey Woolsey and Henry and Iva Freeland.

Funeral services for Richard are 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2023, at Victory Christian Church, 13996 Burr Oak Road, Carthage, Missouri, with Reverend Andy Stump officiating. Burial will follow at Fidelity Cemetery. 

Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Mark Cloud, Tommy Jack, Dennis Woolsey, Lawrence Woolsey, Matthew Woolsey and Titus Woolsey. Honorary pallbearer will be Jedediah Woolsey. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. 

 In lieu of flowers, please bring one Happy Face balloon. Memorial contributions have been directed to Victory Christian Center.
