Dottie Seward

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Dorothy Jeanne Seward, affectionately known as Dottie, peacefully journeyed home to be with our Lord on December 15, 2023.

Her remarkable life began on February 16, 1945, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, born to Orvis Lee and Betty Ruth Sweet. Dottie's life was a testament to love, resilience, and faith.

In April 1992, she crossed paths with the love of her life, Roy Seward, in Coy, TN, and their union blossomed into 31 years of companionship. They made their home in Newtonia, MO, where they built a life filled with love and shared moments.

Her professional journey included being a self-employed house cleaner and later was employed by Brass Eagle Paintball, until her retirement in 2006. A skilled knitter, Dottie found joy in crafting, expressing her creativity through the art of knitting. Her spiritual journey led her to Wanda United Methodist Church, where she connected with her faith community, demonstrating a deep love for the teachings of the Bible.

Dottie is survived by her beloved husband, Roy, and her mother-in-law, Virginia Seward, whom she held a very special bond with. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her four children, Michael Evans, Jeffery Evans, Douglas Evans, and Betty Evans. Additionally, her memory will be cherished by her brother, Russell Sweet Sr., sister Mary Tarrant, 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved Newtonia Community.

Preceded in death by her parents, Dottie's impact on the lives of those around her will be remembered with love and gratitude. Her absence will be felt deeply, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her. A celebration of life will be held at the Newtionia Community Center on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM.
