Teresa Collins

(From Parker Mortuary)

Teresa Lynn Collins, a beacon of love and laughter, passed away on January 3, 2024, in Sarcoxie, MO, at the age of 43. She was born on August 24, 1980, in Joplin, MO.

Teresa was the cherished daughter of the late Twyla O'Connell and the late Edward Robinson. She was a devoted mother to her adoring children, Mya O'Connell and Keyshon Collins. Teresa's vibrant spirit lives on through her loving siblings, Jeannie Hill, Alice Johnson, and Christopher O'Connell, as well as her treasured nieces and nephews, Hailey, Chevelle, Zane, Zion, Kate, and Taylor, and several great-nieces and nephews.

Along with her father and mother, Teresa was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, and her daughters, Kya O'Connell and Bryanna O'Connell, as well as her nephew, Ranon Chiles.

For twelve years, Teresa made her home in Miami, OK, where she dedicated her life to the most noble of vocations: being a homemaker.

Teresa's hands were rarely still, as she was always immersed in DIY projects, her creativity knowing no bounds. Her crafty nature was only matched by her enormous heart. She was always able to find the good in everyone. Her ability to forgive, often considered over forgiving, was a testament to her generous spirit and her belief in second chances.

Teresa's sense of humor was as boundless as her capacity for love. Her children were her world, and she prepared them for life with the tenacity and protectiveness of a true 'momma bear.' Teresa was overprotective, yes, but it was a trait born of deep love and an unyielding desire to see her children thrive. She will be missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, MO.
