Doris Langford

Doris D. (Talley) Langford, 96, of Monett, MO, passed away on Tuesday morning, February 27, 2024 while at Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett.

Doris was born on November 11, 1927 in Grady, NM, daughter of the late Floyd and Vera Mae (Wall) Talley. On March 9, 1962 in Clovis, NM, Doris was united in marriage to Alfed Kenneth Langford. They were blessed with over forty-two years of wonderful memories made together before his passing on October 28, 2004.







Doris and her family moved to Monett in 1968 where she began working for the Leo Stark Oldsmobile dealership as a bookkeeper. Later she went to work at the Monett School System as Bookkeeper and later worked in the Superintendent’s Office. She then began a twenty-four year career at Brownsberger’s, retiring in 2016.

Doris and her husband Ken loved bluegrass music and they were in a band called the Bluegrass Ramblers. Doris played a standup bass guitar. She was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Monett. There, she loved her church family and most importantly, loved worshipping her Lord and Savior.

Doris is survived by her children, Michael Floyd Langford and wife Pat, of Clever and Myra Langford Mitchell and husband Mike, of Reeds, MO; nineteen grandchildren; fourty great-grandchildren; and fourteen great-great-grandchildren. Doris also leaves two sisters, Billie Jo (Talley) Tabor, of Clovis, NM and Verbeina (Talley) Delashaw, of Austin, TX; as well as a host of extended family and friends.








Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Vera Talley; her husband Ken Langford; her children, Kenneth Richard Langford, Carolyn Langford Stroud and Maisie Langford Hyatt; and two sisters, Delores Christine (Talley) Burnett and Barbara Charlene (Talley) Bilbrey.

Funeral services for Mrs. Langford will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Buchanan Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Langford officiating. Interment will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Monett. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions have been suggested to the Fair Haven Children’s Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri.
