Gary Barnum

Gary Lynn Barnum, age 72, passed away at 10:50 am, Friday, March 8, 2024, at Westgate at the Wildwoods, Joplin, MO.

Gary was born April 5, 1951, in Joplin, Missouri. His parents were Walter Joshua and Irene (Hunley) Barnum. Gary was raised in Galena, KS and graduated from Galena High School in 1969. He had lived in Mound City for the past 11 years.

He retired from Missouri American Water Co in 2003 after 20 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Galena, KS. Among his interests were fishing, golfing, gardening, and yardwork.

Gary was married to Lois Jean Breeding on August 6, 1980, in Riverton, Kansas. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include 3 brothers, Mike Barnum, Joplin, Alan Barnum, Riverton, and Dennis Barnum (Anna), Joplin; one sister, Joyce Wentworth (Terry), Wichita, KS; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm. Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Galena, KS.
