Steve Moss

Steven Lavern Moss, 69, departed this life on March 9, 2024 at his home in Anderson, Missouri. Steve was born June 29, 1954 in Lynwood, California to Mack Olan and Verna Lee Moss. He came to Missouri with his parents and brother in 1958.

Steve graduated from Neosho High School in May of 1972 and served in the United States Air Force from 1972 until 1976. He had one son, Jason Moss, and he survives.

Steve was a forklift operator and a welder before he retired. His hobbies were small engine repair and fixing just about anything. He loved to make something useful out of something broken.

Steve was preceded in death by his father and a grandson, Maxwell Moss. He is survived by his mother Verna, son Jason Moss, grandchildren Dakota Moss, Lindsay Day, Shawna Moss, Barney Moss, and Henry Moss. Great grandchildren Alia, Keaton, Huston and Aizen, brother Kenneth Moss, sister Karen (Missy) Freund and husband Dean, nephews Scott Heckmaster, Jonathan Heckmaster and wife Makaylea, nieces Victoria and Vanessa Heckmaster, and one great niece, Macy Heckmaster.

Steve loved his og, Mia, and was grateful for the companionship of his faithful caregiver, Amber. Steve was a member of First Baptist Church, Goodman.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 19, 6:00 pm at Howard Cemetery in Goodman, Missouri, Bro Mark Hall officiating.



Memorial contributions in memory of Steve can be given to CORE addiction Recovery Branson/Springfield, MO in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo.
