Randy Claxton

Randall "Randy" Claxton, 71 of Eldon, Missouri passed away peacefully Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Jefferson City Manor following a short illness. 

Randy was born April 17, 1952 in Eldon, Missouri the son of Bud and Alice (Barclay) Claxton. A lifelong resident of Eldon, he graduated in 1970. He obtained a degree from Missouri Southern State University in 1974.

A member of the Eldon United Methodist Church, he proudly sponsored the UMYF Youth Group and provided tee shirts for church events. He also funded the highway cleaning project that is dedicated to the Claxton family. 






Randy showcased his athletic abilities in football and baseball, winning multiple awards. He loved playing golf and was thrilled to be Grand Marshal at the TPC Tournament in Scottsdale, Arizonia. He founded the Claxton Foundation Scholarship for a deserving EHS football or golf athlete truly showed Randy's deep passion for sports. He participated in the Missouri Show-Me Games for twenty-nine years winning twenty-five gold and four silver metals.

Retiring recently after a long career as sales representative with Hiland Dairy, he was always recognized easily in his black and white cow baseball cap by local residents and customers alike.








Survivors include:

Sister, Carolyn Snyder (Jim), Brother, Ronnie Claxton, Nephews, Brett Claxton (Deneise), Dwaine Claxton (Christine), Bryan Snyder (Jacki), Chad Snyder (Lisa), several Great-Nieces & Nephews, and Special Friend, Jody (Atwell) McCarty

Visitation will be Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the Eldon United Methodist Church with the Funeral Service beginning at 4:00 PM with Rev. Amanda Gastreich officiating. Burial will follow the service.

Memorials in his name are suggested to the Claxton Foundation or the Eldon United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
