Dave Meador

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

John David Meador, 75, of Powell, MO, was born one December 22, 1948, in Cyclone, Missouri. He departed this life on Sunday, August 4, 2024. He was the son of the late Kermit Roosevelt and Julia Jean “Judy” (Woodfill) Meador.

Dave was a born-again Christian of the Pentecostal faith. He graduated from Rocky Comfort High School, May 20, 1966, and was married to Brenda Joyce Littlefield, December 30, 1966, in Wheaton, Missouri. To this union three sons were born. Dave was a member of Faith Builders Family Church, of Rogers, Arkansas.

In June of 1966, Dave went to work for Emerson Electric in Rogers, Arkansas. He went into supervision in 1972, and was over different departments through the years. He was promoted to management, as a sub-foreman, then foreman and general foreman. He served as production manager, and then as manager of all technical services (engineering, maintenance, and quality). The plant closed in February 2001. Dave oversaw the closing of the plant. He continued to work for Emerson in Kennett, Missouri, through August of 2001. He went to work for Technical Machining Services, in Rogers, Arkansas, in 2001, and was there until his retirement, April of 2012. Since then, he has worked with Brenda, Lance, and Lisa, at 4M Service, at Powell, Missouri. Dave and Brenda owned their own farm in Powell, Missouri, since 1969.

Dave is survived by their three sons. David Aaron Meador and his wife Luci, John Travis Meador, and Lansing Kermit Meador and his wife Lisa, all of Powell, Missouri, an extra son, Ronnie Carl Woods, of Stella, Missouri; six grandchildren, Samantha, Travis (and his wife Chelsea), Samson (and his wife Kylie), Tessa, Keenan, and Taylor Meador; four great granddaughters, Aubree, Ella, Adeline, and Arabella Meador; one great grandson, River Meador, and grandsons, Dalton and Dillon Woods. His best friend Keith Lindquist and wife, Norma, of Southwest City, Missouri; also, a sister, Carrie Jones of Powell, Missouri; four sisters-in-law, Connie Roberts, and her husband Larry, of Neosho, Missouri, Peggy Clarkson, of Stella, Missouri, Brenda Sue Meador/Hicks of Anderson, Missouri and Linda Littlefield of Pineville, Missouri; twenty-six nieces and nephews, lots of great nieces and nephews, so many other family members, and a host of friends.

Dave was well thought of by so very many. Neighbors and family members knew the kind of man he was, and anyone who worked with, or for Dave, spoke highly of him. His work ethic said it all. If he couldn’t do the job, he didn’t expect others to do so. He learned before them, and then taught them how. In the public work force for 52 years, he missed less than 2 weeks of work, due to sickness or weather.

Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Meador, on August 20, 2020, his parents; his parent in-law, Henry Lansing and Hazel Irene (Taylor) Littlefield; two sisters, Cleta Rebecca Meador, and Ruth Churchwell; a brother, Clayton Meador; a grandson, Ronnie Todd Woods, three nieces, Rebecca Jean (Jones) Bratton; a great nephew, Ethan Bratton; five brothers-in-law, Larry Jones Kelly Churchwell, James Clarkson, Richard Littlefield and Harold Littlefield, and sister-in-law, Blanche Littlefield.
