Glen Snyder

Glen Luther Snyder passed away and went to be with his Lord and Savior, August 4, 2024.

Glen was born in a farm home across from the little village of Scotland in Jasper County Missouri to John and Elsie Snyder on June 21, 1927. He grew up in the Scotland neighborhood and attended the Scotland grade school, graduated from the Duenweg, Missouri High School and attended the Joplin, Missouri Junior College for two semesters. On May 25, 1951, he married Lois Loop, and two children were born into that union, Stephen Glen and Nancy Sue.

In their later years they would take in and raise a foster child, Diann Lee. From this union Glen had a very delightful and contented 71 years of marriage and he and his wife, Lois, raised three children who became law a biding, successful, and independent adults.

Glen's succeeded in his lifelong trade of Carpentry and Cabinet making and rose to the top of his profession in the construction industry as supervisor of large and worthwhile building projects.

He also spent 18 years of the almost 60 years involved in construction teaching secondary and college students knowledge and skills in that field. In the 15 years he taught Secondary Students he served as Secretary as well as President of the Missouri Trade and Industrial Teachers. He planned contests with the Missouri State Department of Industrial Education for VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America) held within the state. He acted as a local and Missouri district sponsor for students in VICA. While teaching, Glen pursued and received a B.S. degree in Industrial Education from OSU.

His hobbies were fishing, woodworking, and writing. He had several articles published in magazines and wrote 3 books regarding his memoirs.

One of the most important aspects of Glen‘s life was to volunteer and practice his trade as the lead person to build the Scotland Church of God around 1950 and a parsonage around 1960. This was one quarter of a mile east of the little village of Scotland and across the road from where he was born and grew up. The Lord would bring him back 50 years later acting in the same capacity to design and be part of making a nice large fellowship room in the Scotland church basement and an attractive entrance on the front of the church that took away the old leaking and rotting one. Of the many large and small projects within his building career this was his most important one.




Glen and his wife, Lois, and their young Children served as missionaries with the Church of God Cherokee Home Mission in Oklahoma. They also served as directors of the Warner Fellowship Church of God Student Center near the campus of the Northeastern Oklahoma State University. Before and thereafter, Glen, with his wife Lois, did not neglect being an active part in whatever church they attended.




Glen's wife, Lois, preceded him in death. He leaves a son Stephen Snyder, a daughter Nancy (husband Steve) Mulford, a foster daughter Diann Lee, as well as a grandson Matthew John (wife Kendra), their four boys, Jason, Konnor, Kendall, and Abel. He also leaves behind a grandson Ben Mulford (wife Shelly), their one boy Zeke and two girIs, Ember and EIysi, a granddaughter Rebecca Mulford and her son Nate, a granddaughter Andrea Mulford and her three girls Zoe, Aveline, and Mabel and a granddaughter Rachel, all from the Mulford's side of the family.




Above and beyond all the events in his long life, his love and dedication for his Lord and Savior, Jesus, has been his salvation and devotion.
