Jonathan Scheffler

Jonathan Earl Scheffler, aged 55, passed away on September 23, 2024, in Joplin, Missouri. He was born on August 4, 1969, in Arapahoe County, Colorado, to the late Earl and Alice (Zimmerman) Scheffler.

Jonathan’s love for hunting and fishing was only matched by his love for classic Westerns and the epic tales of "Star Wars.” He was a 1988 graduate of Seneca High School. 







Following his graduation, he and his father were the owners and operators of Scheffler Distributing until his father retired. Jonathan was a dedicated employee at Republic Services at the time of his passing. 

He is survived by his loving siblings, Randy Scheffler (Janet), Barbara Lewis (Bobby), Rebecca Forest, Trish Day (Dan), and Karen Deering; nieces and nephews, Heidi Scheffler, Travis Scheffler, Candy Routledge, Christina Walker, Renee Forest, Charles Forest, James Day, Robert Day, Daniel Day; and great-nieces, Josie Clark, Kaydence Lassiter and Riley Day; Nancy Rehder and many other cousins, Aunt Illene Dye, Aunt Margie Zimmerman and Aunt Kathy Hickford (Barry). He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Scheffler and Alice (Zimmerman) Scheffler.








A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 2:00PM – 4:30PM at Villa Heights Christian Church, 2650 East 7th Street, in Joplin, Mo. Where Jonathan was a member.

Cremation arrangements are under the direct care of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, MO.
