(From Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home)Clay Allen Wormington, 16, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2024, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family.
Clay was born in Joplin, Missouri to John and Sibra Wormington on September 19, 2008. Clay had a great love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting everything there was a season for. During the summer he loved swimming and going to the lake with family and friends. You would rarely find him inside no matter what the weather. Clay also had a fondness for auctions. He loved watching and bidding.
Auctions are where he started buying his menagerie of animals from goats to guinea pigs and many things in between. He loved them all. But by far his favorite of all was his companion “RJ”. Clay also deeply loved his family and friends.
Clay was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marie Wormington and his papa, Jerold Schnake.
Clay is survived by his parents, John and Sibra Wormington and sister Emma Wormington of the home. He is also survived by grandparents, John Wormington, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, Dea Schnake also of Sarcoxie and Charles Sommer of South Carolina; as well as a bounty of family and friends.
Funeral services for Clay are 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Sarcoxie High School Archery Building with Pastor Kenji Harrington officiating. Burial will follow in Sarcoxie Cemetery.
